I legit just saw little Dean Winchester at my CVS,
I was picking up some drink and I saw a kid’s bike by the store when I went it. Didn’t pay much mind to it, lots of kids around here - but not many are out at 10:30 AM on a Sunday. So I go find what I want to buy and I see this nine or ten year old kid pushing a buggy through the store. He’s got brown hair that looks like it hasn’t had a haircut in awhile, a green Carhart jacket (the kind Sam usually wears), and jeans.
I don’t pay much mind then, either, until I get to the register and I see this kid’s buggy has a few two liters of pop, some Hot Pockets and a pot pie, and he’s price checking the 75% off Valentine’s candy (and only the Valentine’s candy, not any of the Easter candy or the regular-priced candy bars nearby).
All I could think of was little Dean trying to buy some food on the last bit of money John had left them with before going out on a hunt and trying to find little Sammy some candy as a treat.
I damn near wanted to cry. I almost put $5 in the bag on his bike, but I didn’t want him to catch me and think I was playing the charity case game.
It was doubly sad because, well, I was exactly that kid when I was nine or ten.
